All I have to go off of is the product they produced, and that product, while notably impaired, is otherwise solid, at least in my estimation. For Atomic Heart, that’s exactly what I did, because when push comes to shove, it’s an awesome video game. If anything, the game might even be considered anti-Russia in its plight, which flies in the face of all the weirdness people have attached to the software’s origins and aims. And what’s strange is that once you get deep into the rather convoluted story of rogue robots and mind control, you’ll realize that, for all the bold claims made against the game, saying that it’s basically blatant Russian propaganda, are verifiably false.Ītomic Heart openly and loudly criticizes the alternate history 1950s Soviet Union it takes place in, at times outright denouncing communism, as well as those in power who have essentially burned the fictionalized country to the ground in the name of a promised utopia.
